Lifeboat Lettings 2022 Review

year review

As 2022 draws to a close, it is fitting that we take a little look back at everything that has happened within our business over the year. And wow what a year it has been!

We started the year with a couple of big surprises. Firstly, winning the British Property Awards, best letting agent for the Ashford, Kent area. Around the same time, we were also selected as the in-house lettings expert for one of the country’s biggest property networking events: Kent Property Investor Network.

Whilst we waved goodbye to a couple of our team members at the beginning of the year, we also welcomed the first of several new team members: Erin our new Trainee Lettings Administrator joined us on the Kickstart programme in early February, and is now a fully-fledged member of the admin team, joining us permanently in August. The business has continued to grow apace, and we have also welcomed four other new team members throughout the year: Warren and Laura (Property Managers), Kristina (Financial Controller) and finally Paul has joined us as a handyman. Our team now stands at twelve.

We have also formed a new business venture to support our managed landlords and external clients: Lifeboat Maintenance. Lifeboat Maintenance provides professional handyman services throughout Kent.

As the year progressed, we have taken on many new landlords clients and contracts throughout the county. Overall, the business has grown by about 35% through the year based on revenue, and bottom-line growth is similar.

As a final cherry on the top, the team earnt more much deserved recognition in the form of another award, when we won The Southern Enterprise Awards as Best Family-Run Specialist Lettings Agency in the South-East.

It has been a challenging year in many ways, in particular with the uncertain political and economic outlook coupled with the challenges in the lettings industry in particular, but the business goes from strength to strength and we are immensely proud of everything the team has achieved this year. We would like to thank everyone who has been part of the journey or even just following us through our social media channels and newsletters and hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have. Bring on 2023!
