A Year of Growth, Change and Community at Lifeboat Lettings

2025 look back

As we come to the end of another year, it’s natural to pause and reflect on everything that has shaped 2025. The progress we’ve made, the challenges the industry has faced, and the community that has continued to trust us with their properties and investments.

This year has brought plenty of change, both within the lettings sector and here at Lifeboat Lettings and while change can be demanding, it has also strengthened our commitment to supporting landlords and helping them stay confident and compliant in an evolving market.

Welcoming New Talent and Strengthening Our Team

One of the most significant milestones for us this year was welcoming Luke, our new Lettings Negotiator. He has settled in brilliantly and brought a fresh energy to our day-to-day work. With the market moving quickly and landlord expectations rising, having the right people in place has never been more important and Luke has already become an invaluable part of the Lifeboat team.

Behind the scenes, we have also been busy reviewing and improving our internal operations and processes to ensure we’re delivering the best possible service. With the Renters’ Rights Act now passed, we invested heavily in training across the team. These sessions have helped us prepare for what’s ahead and ensure that our landlords feel supported throughout every stage of the changes.

Preparing for Higher Standards in the Industry

Looking beyond 2025, we’ve also been preparing for the proposed Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA), which is expected to come into force in 2026. RoPA will require all property agents to pass recognised exams and hold formal qualifications, demonstrating that they understand the law and are operating to a consistent professional standard.

As a business, we see this as very positive news for the industry. Higher standards, better training and clear accountability ultimately benefit landlords, tenants and agents alike.

That’s why, as a team, we are already working towards greater certification and ongoing professional development, ensuring that Lifeboat Lettings is not just compliant with future regulation, but ahead of it. We believe landlords should feel confident that the people managing their properties are knowledgeable, qualified and committed to doing things the right way.

Growing Our Managed Portfolio

We’re incredibly grateful to the landlords who have joined us this year and to those who continue to trust us with their portfolios. Our managed stock has grown steadily throughout 2025, this increase reflects a strong level of confidence from both new and existing clients, something we never take for granted.

A Year of Improved Processes and Better Support

Every area of the business has been reviewed this year, from maintenance and compliance workflows to communication and tenancy progression. These improvements help us deliver smoother tenancies, quicker solutions for both landlords and tenants, and even stronger compliance oversight, which is an area that has never been more important.

Supporting Landlords Through Education

One of the highlights of 2025 has been launching our free landlord webinar series. We held our first sessions in July and again in October, with fantastic engagement from landlords across Kent. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and it has shown us just how much appetite there is for clear, practical guidance during a period of such significant legislative change.

We’re excited to continue these quarterly webinars, with the next one scheduled for 14 January 2026. You can register for the webinar here.

Alongside this, our bi-monthly newsletters have continued to play an important role in keeping our landlords up to date. From Renters’ Rights Act updates to EPC deadlines, tips on managing rental homes, and industry insights. We’ve worked hard to ensure our community has access to reliable, digestible information at the right time.

Landlord Feedback That Means the World

Feedback from our clients is something we value deeply, and this year we were especially touched by the kind words shared by Kent investor:

I recently had a detailed conversation with Rick Walton regarding a new investment project, and the guidance he provided was incredibly valuable. Rick took the time to break down the current rental market, highlight key considerations, and offer practical advice based on real, hands-on experience.

It’s clear that Lifeboat Lettings truly understands the challenges landlords and investors face in today’s market. The feedback I received wasn’t just generic it was tailored, insightful, and backed by genuine industry expertise. Rick’s professional yet personable approach made the discussion both informative and easy to digest.

I really appreciate the support and look forward to working with Lifeboat Lettings as the project progresses. Highly recommended.

Hearing that our support is making a real difference reinforces exactly why we do what we do.

A Heartfelt Thank You

2025 has been a year of transition, preparation and growth. Not just for us, but across the entire lettings landscape. We want to extend a sincere thank you to:

  • Our landlords and investors, for your continued trust.
  • Our tenants, for looking after your homes with care.
  • Our contractors, whose expertise keeps our properties safe and compliant.
  • Our team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support every tenancy and every landlord with professionalism and heart.

It’s been a privilege to support you all this year, and we look forward to continuing to stand beside you as the industry evolves.
